The Samsung Galaxy S 4 Snapdragon variant may now be rooted using Dan Rosenberg's exploit, shared over the internet.  This is the same guy who unlocked various devices that run on Qualcomm chipsets.  This root exploit is effective and is relatively simple and it will instruct you to download and save a zip file on your computer and if you are using Windows, run the executable, "run.bat".  Dialog boxes will then prompt you to do the next steps.  If you are using Linux, the executable is "./run.sh".

Keep in mind that rooting or unlocking will void your warranty.  Furthermore, just to remind you again, this ONLY FOR S 4 SNAPDRAGON VARIANT and it will not work on the Exynos variant.  Always read the disclaimer before you peform any rooting or unlocking and always refer to the XDA thread before attempting to do this on your S 4.
